Air France offers customers who have booked a ticket at the Economy Basic fare the option to purchase a Hand Baggage option in addition to the baggage allowance already included in their ticket.
Any customer booking a Hand Baggage option declares that they are legally capable of entering into a contract, have read these Terms and Conditions, and fully accept them.
In these General Terms and Conditions, unless the context indicates otherwise, the following terms and expressions are defined as follows:

3.3 The Hand baggage option is valid for a single journey to or from the stop or final destination, and exclusively for flights operated by Air France and/or KLM. The Option is exclusively associated with a flight segment or a single trip, and not an entire round trip.

5.1 Air France will make every effort to honor the Hand Baggage option booking made in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. However, the Customer is informed that Air France may be required, particularly for operational reasons related to safety and/or security, to modify the Hand Baggage option booking. In such cases, the Customer who was unable to benefit from the Hand Baggage option booked in accordance with these General Terms and Conditions will be refunded the price of the Option, in accordance with the terms set out in Article 5.2 below.
5.2 Customers are entitled to a refund of the Hand Baggage option price if:
- The Hand Baggage option could not be provided, notably due to the cancelation of the flight;
- The Hand Baggage covered by the Option was checked into the hold and either delivered with a delay of more than 3 hours or lost.
5.3 The Customer is not entitled to a refund if they choose to carry fewer Hand Baggage items than allowed under their cabin baggage allowance or if they decide not to travel (voluntary cancellation by the passenger).
5.4 All refund requests must be submitted exclusively through the "My Bookings" section on the Websites.
5.5 The price of the Option will be refunded in accordance with the provisions of this article within a maximum of 30 days from the date Air France receives all the necessary information to process the refund, except in exceptional crisis situations.
Under this clause, neither Air France nor the Customer shall be held liable or considered to have failed in their respective obligations in the event of total or partial non-performance of their commitments as defined in the General Terms and Conditions, if such non-performance results from a force majeure event, as defined or interpreted by the legislation of the applicable country.
In such cases, neither party shall be entitled to compensation or damages for any direct or indirect loss resulting from the non-performance of the services.
7.1 Flying Blue members may be eligible for certain benefits related to Hand Baggage:

7.2 The Flying Blue status must be valid at the time of airport check-in in order to be taken into account.
Air France reserves the right to modify the Hand Baggage option and these Terms and Conditions at any time. Subscriptions to the Hand Baggage option are subject to the General Terms and Conditions of Sale in effect at the time of booking, unless a change to these Terms and Conditions is required by law or a governmental authority (in which case the change will also apply to all existing orders).
These Terms and Conditions are governed by French law.
